How to bring a pop of colour into your home

On a rainy summer day, I love to get stuck into little craft/diy projects and this one came from the desire of brining some colour into my home.

Maxi love

When I think summer holiday, I think loose floaty dresses, so when I found this Topshop Dress that also had a gorgeous pattern on the right kind of red (if you know what I mean :)), it was love at first sight!

Ultimate Beach Dress

We've come back from a lovely week in La Palma, a place I stumbled upon while looking for a cheaper summer holiday after going skying this February.

It is a volcanic island, and the huge resort is about 50 minutes of extremely windy roads away, and not much else around unless you're like hubby and love climbing and running, then it never stops giving! :)

Since I could not leave the resort (I get car sick very easily), I knew it was the perfect time to guilt trip hubby into taking quite a few photos after leaving me alone to do his runs and exploring! :)

First outfit, based around this cute, tile print, handkerchief design beach dress from Monsoon, bit see through but that's fine for a beach dress even if you wear it at night while on holiday. The shape of it, the v-neck and the high pinched waist is very flattering for a more voluptuous body shape like mine.

Fancy skirt, casual outfit

I don't wear skirts that often as it actually takes a lot of thought sometimes putting an outfit together around a skirt! :)

Was so drawn to this floral asymmetric skirt from Boohoo at Asos though that I decided to give it a go, and was so happy with the item when it arrived!

It is well lined, high waisted, elasticated as well as having a zip, the shape is different and stands out and the print and colours are gorgeous!

Happy July!!!!

Having just returned from my summer holiday in La Palma and today being the first day of July, I decided to concentrate my posts this month mostly on summer holiday wear and a few of the places I recommend for booking a summer holiday.

I will start with Knaresborough, a local stunner which I have featured on my blog before so please follow the link here Dreaming of Knaresborough, for a few words about the place and an outfit I still totally adore! :)

Dottie's Gelati - Vintage & Ice Cream Love

I love vintage as much as I love new & contemporary, and the launch of Dottie's Artisan Gelato & Vintage Tea Room was the perfect choice for a day out on a sunny Bank Holiday weekend!

Ruffles, Cat Shirt and All Things Pink

As soon as a bit of sun comes out, my mind instantly goes pink! :)

These Zara trousers came out last year in black and they are a staple in my wardrobe, they are high waisted, have a zip on the side and the frill detail at the bottom always gets comments!

So naturally when they came out in pink and off white this year, I had to jump at the chance of adding some chicness to my wardrobe! :)

Embroidery, lace and pink everything

I absolutely loved this bank holiday weekend!!!

Hubby and I both had quite a bit of time off and on Saturday night we had dinner with some friends with a few Porn Star Martinis (did you know there's no Martini in those?!?! :)), on Sunday we had an Italian lunch date at Bella Italia in York, where amazingly enough they started to play our wedding song as soon as we walked through the door (That's Amore), then watched Beauty and the Beast at The View while eating, and I kid you not, a bucket of sweet popcorn, and on Monday we went for a walk in York and lunch at the Starr in The City.

Sounds like a holiday in two days for us! haha

Anyway, today's outfit is a mixture of all sorts of textures I love to no end, the gorgeous lacy back of this white jumper from Molly Browns, a shop I only discovered because I dared to tap this gorgeous girl on the shoulder while waiting to return something in Next, just cause I had to find that where that top was from! :) Do you do that? :)

Happy Easter!!!

Spring always makes me want to start fresh with all sorts, the sunshine, the daffodils, the emerging green and blossom everywhere! :)

So here I am, brining life back into this little corner of the world, with loads of new plans but same busy (if not busier) schedule so will try and take it one step at the time and improve this area as I go!

Tropical Flowers & Kittens with Sunglasses

I decided to order this dress to try it on but had no big expectations, in fact I was pretty sure it'll go back as soon as it arrived.

My first thought when I opened the parcel was that the colours were a bit too bright, but given that they were supposed to look tropical, I decided to try it on and fell in love with it for its fab fit and girly design and print!

Self Portrait Azaelea Lookalike Dress in Blush Pink

This year, the most amazing women from Olivia Palermo to Liv from What Olivia Did and Janina from Love and Urban and my fav fellow blogger Andini from Adventures of an Anglophile have been showing of their amazing Self Portrait dresses!

These dresses are showstoppers, and except maybe all Erdem collections :) and a few Zimmerman dresses, they are my absolute favourite designs!

However, they do come with a hefty price tag attached, price that most of us will not pay for one dress when we can have a wardrobe full of more wearable dresses from our High Street retailers.

But through a little miracle, maybe not so great for the designers at Self Portrait, but definitely for us fashion lovers who need to have these dresses in our wardrobe, I have found SHEIN.COM and their amazing Hallow Out Fit Flare Lace Cami Dress!

Archive by Alexa Chung - The Eliza Dress

There was a lot of hype surrounding the launch of Archive by Alexa Chung at Marks and Spencer and I must admit I was hooked and ordered at least 7 items as soon as they became available! :)
After a lot of debate, and I mean a lot, the Harry blouse went back together with most of the other items! The Harry Blouse was great but maybe not something I would've worn that often, to be honest! If only the material was not that cheap see through cotton, I know I wouldn't have been able to send it back!

But anyway, The Eliza Dress was one of the 2 items I have kept and I couldn't be happier with my choice! :)

Primark Haul May 2016

At the weekend, we finally got a Primark in York Monks Cross and I was there at 9:55 to join the huge queue! Wondered whether I will be there for hours, but was pleasantly surprised when the doors opened at 10:05 and all of us got to enter within 5 minutes or less. The store is huge, 16 cash registers downstairs only, complimentary bottles of water and lovely staff to help out! Obviously, could always do with more changing rooms but really the only thing I was let down by was the home department, which has hardly anything in it, and it is squeezed on the second floor between kids and mens. That being said, never have I ever been there when a store opened its doors for the first time, and not having to be disappointed by my size being sold out, I came out with a nice selection of goodies, as follows! :)

Black and White Stripped Blazer

As soon as I saw this blazer in a issue of Look Magazine on Fearne Cotton, I was on my way to York to source it out and add it to my wardrobe! :)

I always thought stripes demand attention and add style to any outfit, make them black and white and I'm sold! Every single time! :)
